How We Protect Your Privacy
You have chosen to do business with us, and we recognize our obligation to keep the information you provide to us secure and confidential. Keeping your financial information secure is one of our most important responsibilities. We value your trust and are committed to handling your information with care. This document will explain the type of information we collect, how we care for it, and how we use it. Our commitment to protect your financial information will continue under the principles and guidelines described below.
How We Keep Your Information Secure
In order to provide our customers with a broad range of financial products and services as effectively and conveniently as possible, we use technology to manage and maintain customer information. Our employees access your information when needed to maintain your accounts or otherwise meet your needs. We may also access information about you when considering a request from you for additional services or when performing duties required under the law or under any agreement with you.
We take steps to safeguard customer information. We safeguard information according to established security standards and procedures, and we continually assess new technology for protecting information. We restrict access to your personal and account information to our employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information. Our employees are trained to understand and comply with these information principles.
At Lawrence Bank, we take great care to protect your personal information. We will never call or e-mail you asking you to update or verify sensitive information, including your account numbers, PINs, user names, passwords or Social Security number. Be wary of emails or individuals who ask for such information, as sharing your Personal ID and Password will provide the recipient with full access to your account. If you receive any such calls or e-mails, please contact us immediately.
What Information We Collect
In the course of doing business, we collect and use various types of information. We use this information to service your accounts and to help you learn more about the financial services and products for which you may have an interest or a need.
"Public personal information" is information available from any public source, such as a telephone directory. "Nonpublic personal information" is information about you that we obtain in connection with providing a financial product or service to you. For example, nonpublic personal information includes information regarding your account balance, payment history and types of accounts you maintain. We may collect "nonpublic personal information" about you from the following sources:
- Information we receive from you on applications or other loan & account forms;
- Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates or others; and
- Information we receive from third parties such as credit bureaus.
How and Why Information is Shared
We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law.
We are permitted under law to disclose nonpublic personal information about you to "nonaffiliated third parties" (i.e., third parties that are not members of our corporate family) in certain circumstances. For example, we may disclose nonpublic personal information about you to such third parties to assist us in servicing your loan or account with us; to government entities in response to subpoenas; and to credit bureaus. To assist us in offering you services, we may occasionally share information with companies that work for us, such as check-printing and data processing companies. These companies act on our behalf and are obligated to keep the information that we provide to them confidential.
If you decide to close your account(s) or become an inactive customer, we shall continue to adhere to the policies and practices described in this notice.
How We Keep Information Accurate
Keeping your account information accurate and up to date is very important. If you ever find that your account information is incomplete, inaccurate or not current, please call or write to us. We will promptly correct any erroneous information.
